The Android app is in closed testing

Wispim for Android is in closed testing on Google Play. It is not public, and we have no release date to give.

To join the beta, use the email link at the top of this page and send us the address of the Google account your phone uses. Google Play needs that address to add you to the test.

A teleprompter in Chrome today

The online teleprompter is free and runs in Chrome on Android. Open it on your phone and paste your script. There is nothing to install and nothing to sign up for.

Voice follows your speech and scrolls the script as you read. Sound scrolls while it hears you talk, and Constant scrolls at a speed you set.

Tested on one phone

We tried the online teleprompter on 30 October 2026 on one Samsung Galaxy phone, with Android 16 and Chrome 155, and Voice followed speech there. That is a single phone, so other phones and other browsers may behave differently.

If Voice gets no words back on your phone, switch to Sound or Constant. Neither of them needs speech recognition.

Where the audio goes

Voice uses your browser’s speech recognition, which belongs to the browser’s maker. Depending on the browser, audio may go to its vendor or speech-service provider for server processing.

Sound uses the microphone level and transcribes nothing. Constant never opens the microphone. Your script stays in your browser and never reaches our server.

No floating window from a browser

A web page cannot stay on top of another app, so in Chrome there is no floating window over the camera. The script stays in its own tab.
